It seems like every day there is a new tool or product out there that is promising our end users abilities on par of turning lead into gold. With just this one tool, our end users can do anything! If only their pesky IT team would let them install it, then they could generate endless shareholder value, become super efficient, and actually this exact tool is critical for their job and how dare you question it! 

When end users are requesting new tools that will lead them to the promised lands, how can we as IT teams ensure that the tools are actually what they say they are, and how can we measure their risk in our environments?
